RARE 1956 CROWN LIMO HAS THE RIGHT STUFF

Life is never dull in the collector car biz!

Along comes a Texas client with a passion for anything Chrysler who stumbled upon the only remaining (out of two produced) custom-bodied 1956 Crown Imperial constructed by the vaunted coachbuilding firm of Derham. Before saying goodbye to a pile of cash based on a few pix, however, yours truly was entrusted with the task of evaluating the black beauty in the flesh.

Though docked in quite possibly the furthest any New Hampshire town could be from my place in Middlebury VT, I'm all about day trips and my trusty 1990 300SE complete with 4,200 iPod tunes and well worn clipboard acquitted me well.

Okay, paint and chrome were on the needy side and the replacement interior were hydes from a nuaga though good workmanship all around. VIN matches Chrysler records as was the correctly stamped number on the throaty Hemi. The vehicle's undercarriage belied its 61-year age and its bridge-like frame meant she rode like a locomotive. Three hours, 78 photos and the lovely owners' careful stewardship confirmed my client just had to have her!
