The Futurliners and the GM Parade of Progress: They were once wonders of the automotive world. The public had never seen anything quite like them when they first saw the light of day in 1941. They were GM’s Futurliners and they held out a promise of brighter days to come. The arrival of the fleet of twelve of these second generation vans and their support vehicles in small town America was much akin to the circus coming to town, and the show that the intrepid “Paraders” put on drove the point home. Learn all about them and see a great period color video @ theoldmotor.com/?p=92897

#2 - 1973 240Z. Bought it used from a guy in Acton, MA after the Mustang was rear ended in Framingham. Drove it until it fell apart. Trouble car. Lots of tickets. Big straight 6 with dual side draft carbs and a shell of a body. Manual choke.

Production started on the "Towne Top", (a removable convertible hardtop made by Dory Development Corp.) on April 24, 1964, right after the car's April 17 introduction. Priced at $28, the Towne Tops were offered in two colors, Raven Black and Sand Beige, with an optional dome light. It's unknown how many were produced, but serial numbering began at #1000.
Dory Development Corporation of Salem, New York not only made these limited-production hardtops for Mustang but a similar version for Corvair convertibles as well.
This picture shows the top being suspended by poles for display purposes only.

Possibly the most legendary figure in the history of Indy Car racing is A.J. Foyt. Not only did he win four times, he drove in more Indianapolis 500s than anyone else has and probably every will. 35 straight. Not only that, he has stayed involved as an owner ever since he retired as a driver in 1993, and won as an owner as well. This year will be 53 straight years at Indy for A.J.
2011 also marks 50 years from his first win, and the Foyt crew has painted Vitor Miera’s #14 to resemble the paintjob A.J.’s roadster sported in 1961. Nice touch.
We know A.J. will be busy on race day, but what better tribute could there be than A.J. driving the pace car and leading the field to the green? In a perfect world Rick Mears and Al Sr. would be driving the wingman pace cars.
The Foyt team with Larry involved has been working hard on consistency both in terms of personnel and equipment. Vitor had a few really good showings in his comeback last season, and a win by Vitor and A.J. in 2011 would be the feel-good story of the year, especially if it happened at Indy.
That is something potentially great to root for!

2013 Chevy Corvette v Camaro ZL1 v Porsche Cayenne S Mile Mashup Review. ( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and the crazy fast Camaro ZL1 are two of the fastest American made cars that you can buy today. In fact many would say that these two cars represent the very best in American sports performance and modern muscle. So why would we mash them up in a 0-60 MPH performance test and review at a mile above sea level with a new Porsche Cayenne S crossover and perhaps more importantly which of these cars is after. You'll have to watch this video to find out.
