1949 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible for sale at Old Town Classics.
The ultimate "barn" find. Dry garage storage since 1971. Bought from the second owner who bought the car in 1961 in Beverly Hills California. It's a long but interesting story of why he kept the car so long without using it. All original except new top in 1961 and one repaint in the 60's. Early 1949 Town and Country therefore it had the wood veneer "dynac" sides which were painted over. This product is still available through 3M. The wood timber is exceptional for age and usable to be refinished. The chrome is in very good condition. Have all the small trim not shown, perfect tail lights, and rare NOS front bumper guards with chrome crossover with the Chrysler Script under a lens. Have properly started engine from its long storage. Ran on outside fuel tank. Runs decent. Will need further service for road use. Needs brakes, water pump, radiator and gas tank cleaned. I assume most buyers would consider restoring themselves to the next level. High dollar car when restored.
The first photo's were taken after it was towed to my house after it's 42 year storage with only a quick wipe down. The pictures in the parking lot is on its way back to my warehouse from shop to establish engine does run. Trans sifts through all its gears on lift. ** Be sure to see pictures page 2 / arrow at page bottom. Asking $25,000
